Shakira, Shakira

Hey, it's Saturday night. And I don't feel like writing anything else heavy.

So here are a couple of Shakira videos I came across at You Tube.

This one is from the VMA Music Awards 2006 from a month or so ago. She's singing "Hips Don't Lie" with Wyclef Jean and doing some Indian-style dancing.

This one is her appearance at the opening of the World Cup championship. It's also,"Hips Don't Lie", but it's an alternative version. This was clearly taped from a television screen, so the video isn't super-clear. But the alternative song version makes it worthwhile.

Probably the record companies will find some way to keep stuff like this off You Tube. They just can't stand to have anyone giving their artists massive free marketing.

No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."
