Only one of the U.S. Attorneys fired truly had performance issues: Kevin Ryan of San Francisco, a "loyal Bushie" that was grudgingly added to the list by the DOJ at the last minute because he could be a public relations liability.

The lead prosecutor of the DOJ team against tobacco companies said Bush loyalists in the department interfered and weakened the case.

The Senate Judiciary Committee joins the House and voted to authorize subpoenas against White House Officials. Whereas Chuck Grassley (R-IA) clearly voted yes on the subpoena -- so much for Bush's charge of "partisanship" -- Arlen Specter (R-VA) wanted the Senate to settle with "what (they) can get" from the White House but was shot down by the clearly indignant Pat Leahy (D-VT):



Alberto Gonzales says he won't resign for the sake of "protecting our kids".

Rudy Giuliani says Gonzales should be given the benefit of the doubt and allowed to explain. Sure Rudy, under oath.

Tom DeLay says the attorney firings is a "manufactured scandal". Sounds like he knows something we don't know. Care to testify under oath too, Tom?
