Too Late For Impeachment

I was wrong.

Wow, that wasn't so hard.

I was thinking that the Bush Administration was marginalized by a Democratic majority, and that the balance of power designed by our founding fathers had been restored. I thought that the bleeding was stopped, and that a lame duck President could do no further damage to an already ailing nation.

The Executive Order that Bush signed on Friday has quietly transformed this once-proud Republic into a police state. The transition is complete folks, we no longer live in a free nation. For those of you who still believe that America is the home of the free, have another beer and turn on the TV.
You'll be fine as long as you don't protest the war, and keep quiet while Democracy gets fucked. If you say nothing about American crimes and illegal war, you get to keep your bank accounts and your house, and all of that stuff that you worked so hard to acquire.

There is no body of law that the Bush Administration will answer to. Any subpoena that Congress might issue will be ignored, delayed, and appealed. If Bush and Cheney want to expand the war into Iran, they will, there is no legislative body to stop them. If they want to take my 401k, (as tiny as it is) there is no one to stop them. It's not like we didn't see this coming, even us smart people never believed it would come to this. We were wrong, and all of those far-left nut-jobs were right. If you have any cash that you can liquidate, my advice is this:

Keep it handy under your mattress, and always have a full tank of gas and your passport nearby.

The shit has hit the fan.
