When Hillary is PresidentI guess I'm kind of surprised at the American lack of concern about the new powers of the Imperial Presidency, and the weakening of the separation of powers that defined our country at it's conception. I'm not sure that Republicans have completely thought this new and improved way of governing through, and I'm not sure that they have grasped the fact that they will surely lose the next Presidential election, and that Hillary Clinton will most like become the next Decider-in-Chief.What sorts of things might she do with her new and improved Executive Powers? I'm hoping that she puts an end to the military in Iraq, and that she begins to reform the military in ways that actually defend our country, rather than incite chaos and instability in the world. That might be impossible, since the military and companies like Boeing and Lockheed Martin own most of the Republican lawmakers. But the next President will have to make cuts in the military, the amount of capital we expend to support our killing machine is not sustainable, and most Americans agree that the Department of Defense would be a better organisation if it lived up to it's name and really defended our borders and our country. Since she is able to detain non-enemy combatants indefinitely, maybe she will send some of our Saudi Friends to Guantanamo. Fighters from Saudi Arabia are thought to have carried out more suicide bombings than those of any other nationality, said the senior U.S. officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the subject's sensitivity. It is apparently the first time a U.S. official has given such a breakdown on the role played by Saudi nationals in Iraq's Sunni Arab insurgency. And then there is that infamous Saudi, Osama. It would be nice to see him in Guantanamo. But if Hillary used her new powers of detaining the Saudis, they would most likely shut off our gas pump, and our days of cheap oil would be over. But then she could push forward an extreme gas tax that would encourage people to use public transportation. She could issue an executive order making it illegal for people to drive around in oversized trucks or Hummers for commuting purposes, and making it a law that any person driving a vehicle designed to haul things, like a truck, or a mini-van, must haul that load, if the vehicle is not full of either passengers or stuff, it cannot be on the road. With the money Hillary saves our nation by ending the Iraq war, she could invest half of the extra capital in poor families with children. Our investment in America's future, will give us the ability to compete with other countries in the future, all of those highly educated workers from India and Pakistan who have somehow gotten a better education from a struggling third world nation than our kids have gotten from the most wealthy nation in the world. I support Hillary Clinton for President for several reasons. The first and most important reason is that she is really smart, and our country is so fucked-up, that we need someone with the brains and experience to bring us out of this crisis. Obama would be totally in over his head, and John Edwards is not tough enough to rise to the challenge. The second and less important reason I support Hillary Clinton, is that I can't wait to see the look on all those Republican faces when Hillary takes the oath of office. Oh Happy Day. | +Save/Share | | |
