Major media dysfunction

More irrefutable evidence of the bankruptcy of the American media.

Britney Spears would never come back, the skeptical godless heathens said. So, Sunday night she comes back, opening the MTV Music Awards show from Las Vegas, performing her latest release, Gimme More.

She was brilliant, as always.

But what did our media do? They trashed her, of course. I'm not linking to any of the critical articles because they're just hate-sites. I'll bet none of them even noticed the musical connection with Elvis the King in her opening lines. Noooo-ooo, they're too busy making up phony stuff to trash her about.

It's her Southern accent, I'm sure. They just can't believe a sweet Southern Baptist girl like Boo with a charming southern-Mississippi-type accent can be such an innovative, cutting-edge performer. Disgraceful, just disgraceful.

But it doesn't matter. Quality wins out, eventually.
