People, he's a flaming rightwinger!

There must be some really bad but really tempting Kool-Aid going around. Check these two items out:

Elizabeth Kucinich: My Husband Would "Absolutely" Consider Running With Ron Paul Huffington Post 11/23/07. This is referenced to FireDogLake, but I can't find anything about it there. The link that says "Firedoglake" as of this writing actually takes you to a blog called the "Americans for Ron Paul Blog".

Cheering for Ron Paul by Robert Scheer, Truthdig.com 11/20/07. Scheer has been a crusading liberal columnist since the 1960s, when he was editor of the antiwar, Catholic-left magazine Ramparts. His Truthdig site is a valuable liberal resource. I recently linked to a debate he had with Ralph Nader where Scheer forcefully made the point that an antiwar third-party movement in 2008 would put another war-obsessed rightwing Republican in the White House. And yet he writes:

Until the leading Democratic candidate [Clinton] faces up to the irreparable harm that the red-ink spending she authorized will do to needed social programs over the next decades, I will be cheering for the libertarian Republican. At least he won't throw more money down some foreign rat hole.

Yeah, there must be some bad stuff going around.
