Thirty Five Years Ago today.Today is the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in the case known as Roe v. Wade, a fact that we see Bruce has celebrated in our Daily Quote sidebar. Abortion is not a subject that I can write on, never have been able to, although I firmly and deeply believe in every woman's right to make her own choices regarding her own body. Bruce may have seen Erica Jong's post this morning in the Huffington Post blog; its title is the very Florynce Kennedy quote he chose for today. I can't write about abortion, or Roe v. Wade, but Erica Jong certainly can. I offer her post to you as a way for us all to meditate on this great judicial milestone that is always in danger of being rescinded, throwing girls and women back into the hell that preceded it.
