They Reign in SpainBruce has been keeping us abreast (I'm sorry, I just couldn't help it) of one of Spain's female Cabinet members, Defense Minister Carme Chacon, but this story in the British paper The Independent today was just so mind-blowing I had to beat him to it. Closing the gender gap: why women now reign in Spain. In Spain's cabinet there are now more women than men - and think of this, these are some of the Cabinet positions they hold: Equality Minister, Environment Minister, Science and Innovation Minister. as well as Defense Minister. Here in this country The Feminist Majority has identified 21 candidates they'd like to see elected to Congress, in order to up the female Congressional contingent to 25 percent. Maybe it's high time to revamp our Cabinet as well. How about a Secretary of Equality in there advising the next President?
