What do women think of Palin?I imagine that women will be annoyed that McCain has picked a woman who is even less qualified than Geraldine Ferraro was in 1984. He passed over a number of well-qualified Republican women - a move that suggests that he would not be comfortable with a woman on the team who can hold her own in the Executive Branch - women like Condoleeza Rice and Christine Todd Whitman. The Palin pick reminds me of Dan Quayle. Not a comfortable association, to say the least. I am wondering how McCain could have made this decision -- stunned really that he could have done something so reckless. After the John Edwards flameout, I should be accustomed to politicians showing terrible judgment, but I guess I am not there yet. Right now, I am especially interested in how women will see this move by McCain. Will it help him pick up votes among women? Or will women be insulted by such a frivolous pick? There is no doubt in my mind that McCain could have picked up votes among women if he had picked one of the more prominent women in his party -- but what do you women think of this choice? | +Save/Share | | |
