Natzis SchmatziesI don't know if y'all know who Steve Benson is, but he's a political cartoonist who lives here in the Valley of the Sun. As his work is, to put it mildly, left-leaning, I find it a wonder that the Arizona Republic, a right-leaning newspaper, continues to print is stuff on a syndicated basis. But they do.Today's cartoon for instance had a HUGE disgusted looking elephant saying, "It's absolutely outrageous --OUTRAGEOUS, I tell you -- that Democratic Senator Dick Durbin dared compare our soldiers to Nazis!!" But on the other side of the cartoon, Benson writes: "HELLO?? Who are Republicans to complain about Nazi comparisons?" Some actual quotes: "The Democrats' position on the filibuster is the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 saying, 'I'm in Paris. How dare you invade me? How dare you bomb my city? It's MINE!'" - Senator Rick Santorum It seems to me that both partys enjoy linking the opposition to Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler. I know I have from time to time. Mayhaps that should tell us something about we Americans today - as a people? Think about it. | +Save/Share | | |
