Signs of Life in America

It's almost as if the country is waking up from a night of bad sleep, filled with dreams of terror and uncertainty. While our most educated citizens sit at home wringing their hands and writing editorials about the theft of our First amendment rights, and the unraveling of democracy, the people who mow the lawns of the elite, and wipe the asses of the wealthy children, have the courage to march in the streets in the face of a law that will make it a felony to help human beings seek honest work in this country.

On Friday, High School children left classrooms and marched to other schools to gather support to protest the proposed immigration bill. Most high school children I know don't even know the name of their own representative, but these children have family members who they love and protect, and to make it illegal to love and protect your family is just plain wrong and un-American.

The signs of Americans coming to life are encouraging and heartening.

This could be the beginning of real change.
