Here We Go Again

How do we know what to believe when there are so many lies?

Iran Could Make Nuclear Bomb in 16 Days, U.S.'s Rademaker Says... (If They Installed 324 Times As Many Centrifuges As They Have Now)

April 12
(Bloomberg) -- Iran, which is defying United Nations Security Council demands that it cease its nuclear program, may be capable of making a nuclear bomb within 16 days if it goes ahead with plans to install thousands of centrifuges producing enriched uranium at its Natanz plant, a U.S. State Department official said. ``Natanz was constructed to house 50,000 centrifuges,'' Stephen Rademaker, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation, told reporters today in Moscow. ``Using those 50,000 centrifuges they could produce enough highly enriched uranium for a nuclear weapon in 16 days.'' In fact, Iran will move forward to ``industrial scale'' uranium enrichment involving 54,000 centrifuges at Natanz, the Associated Press quoted deputy nuclear chief Mohammad Saeedi as telling state-run television today.Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said yesterday the country had succeeded in enriching uranium on a small scale for the first time, using 164 centrifuges. That announcement defies demands by the UN Security Council that Iran shut down its nuclear program this month.
Yeah right, and in 16 days, I'm going to turn into fucking Cinderella.

Keep in mind the outrageous claims that were made just 4 years ago regarding those unmanned drones that could send anthrax to San Francisco in a matter of hours. Remember the images of mushroom clouds from a poorly forged document that made it's way into the President's State of the Union Address not so long ago. Think about the lies that put us into a state of war that we are losing badly. Recall our relationship with the world before Iraq, when we relied on diplomacy to solve our problems. If the recent history of war does not convince you that our leaders lie and distort intelligence, think of those young people who will never come back from Iraq, and imagine that one of them is your own child. If you've heard some lies in the past four years, realize that not much has changed, and the lies are still forthcoming.

My fellow bloggers and citizens, be brave and believe in the path of non-violence. If you think that things are bad now, imagine what an expanded war in the MidEast will look like. Resist war, it will only lead us down the path of failure.

No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."
