Undercover ActivistsIf you don't know the organization PEER, it's time for a meet-up. PEER, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, is a national non-profit alliance of local, state and federal scientists, law enforcement officers, land managers and other professionals dedicated to upholding environmental laws and values. It allows public servants to work as "anonymous activists" so that agencies must confront the message, rather than the messenger.In other words, it's there to protect whistleblowers in the agencies that are supposed to be the guardians and managers of our national lands, parks, natural resources, the agencies that make policy and deal with issues of environmental concern to their employees and the public interest. The group's objectives are these:
