Good News and BadIt's a really good morning when the sun is shining, the Cheerios aren't stale, and the milk in the fridge doesn't expire until Saturday. But it's even better when you log onto the Washington Post, and see this headline:Confidence In GOP Is At New Low in Poll Democrats Favored To Address Issues The good news is, Americans are favoring Democrats on issues of security, on spending and economic issues, and even favor them to get a handle on the Iraq war. The number one issue is the economy, the number two issue is Iraq. More good news in the poll shows that more people will be voting in November, and that they favor democrats over Republicans by a whopping margin of 23 percent. The bad news for Democrats is that there is a lot of anger with incumbents, and people are looking for new ideas. There is more bad news for Democrats, because they haven't offered any real ideas about how they will fix the situation in Iraq, which probably seems to them beyond fixing. I guess I must be an average American, since I agree with the majority that while the Republicans need to go away, I'm not confident that the Democrats have a clue about how to stop the bleeding in Iraq, or that any party can deal with the energy crisis we face today. The strategy of the Democrats to let the Republicans bury themselves might get them elected in November, but I sure hope they have a plan to move the country forward. | +Save/Share | | |
