Everything Has a Shelf LifeIn the food business, you learn how to take today's left over Steak Diane and turn it into tomorrow's Diane's Beef and Wonton Soup. You buy some frozen wontons, you cut the steak into tiny pieces, add some Shitake Mushrooms and Spring Onions, and what was something destined for the trash bin, is now netting you $4.99 a bowl. When you're in the food business, you know the shelf life of everything you sell, and you know when something should be written off as a loss, and when you can still sell a quality product. Once a product becomes soup, if you can't sell it, there is no warming it up the next day, it is a loss, and you have to cut your losses, learn to be smarter the next time, and just move on.George Bush has most likely never had to eat left-overs, and for sure never had to take last night's dinner and turn it into soup. But George Bush has purchased a really expensive piece of steak, called the War In Iraq, and after not having a recipe, has completely ruined the entree. Since he is left with this charred rotten piece of the Iraq War, he is now trying to sell it to Americans as something else, but as it is brought to our tables, we can smell the stench, we can see where the burnt part has been scraped, and we're not buying it. George Bush can kill as many Al-Zarqawi's as he can find, he can fly to Baghdad every weekend, he can use the word success as many times as he wants, but the fact remains, when you bring something rotten to the table, it doesn't matter how you try to spice it up, or what sort of creative garnish you might use, the war is past it's expiration date, it's already yesterday's soup. If I were you, I'd call Pizza Hut instead. | +Save/Share | | |
