No more brass farthings, thank you...

Mark Twain:

In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.

I have decided not to entertain comments on my posts. I have eliminated the comments on my recent posts as well.

I will make the assumption that anyone who would be interested in reading one of my posts probably has little interest in the yahoo comments that tend to accumulate like earthworms after summer rainfall. Not that there haven't been some really great comments here, but I am tired of wading through the muck to get to them.

Worms, brass farthings, muck -- well, you get the point.

FEATURED QUOTE

"It is the logic of our times
No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."
