Verde, Que Te Quiero VerdeIt's going to be a great weekend to be green, as well as liberal/left, in Washington D.C. As I am all-of-the-above, I really look forward to this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the Stop the War rally, demo, music, inter-denominational prayer service, activist training (click the link on our sidebar for info and schedules), there is also a Green Festival in the city. The last one of these I went to was in Austin, TX, too many years ago. I've been longing for the opportunity to attend another one ever since. Green Festival is:...a two-day party with a serious purpose: to accelerate the emergence of a new economic paradigm that is life-affirming and life-restoring. Together we are cultivating a culture of sustainability and social equity that honors our interdependence with all life. Green Festival unites green businesses, social and environmental groups, visionary thinkers and thousands of community members in a lively exchange of ideas, commerce and movement building fun.So, Friday evening with my sisters and nieces, Saturday with friends, family and fellow-bloggers at the Mall, and Sunday at the Green Festival, learning more ways to sustain life for all of us here on this planet. I'm delirious. Please come join us for any of this. If you can't, there's another Green Festival in San Francisco November 5th and 6th. Check the link on the banner above for info on speakers, sponsors, scheduled activities for both Festivals. | +Save/Share | | |
